The gastronomic adventure begins in the heart of Center City when you meet your friendly Guide near the Shops at Liberty Place. They will escort you and the rest of the group to five tasty eateries where you will enjoy the classic Flavors of Philadelphia including cheesesteaks and cheese whiz fries, tomato pie, soft pretzels, chocolate-covered hard pretzels, Famous 4th Street Cookies and of course cheesesteaks! From City Hall to Reading Market, you will also learn about some of the area’s famous buildings, plus a bit of history about the City that Loves You Back and more!

The Philadelphia Food Tours are offered up to seven days a week year-round, subject to availability. Tours typically begin at 1:30 PM on Weekdays and 12:00 PM on Weekends.

The Flavors of Philadelphia Food Tours have a tour length of 2½ hours and a total duration of approximately 2¾ hours.

What to Wear for Food Tour Experiences

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

What To Know Before You Go

Tours include ½ to 1 mile of walking. There are typically five stops for tastings and the price includes all tastings. Enough food is offered at tasting that, for most, a meal afterwards is not needed. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made.

Tour routes and locations visited are subject to change. Children must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age or older at all times. Not designed for children under the age of 10.

You will have the opportunity to purchase additional food and beverages during the experience, therefore participants are urged to bring additional spending money.

Gratuity for your guide is not included and may be extended following your tour.

A very nice experience and an excellent guide. Ryan was full of knowledge not only about the foods we were eating but also about other foods in the area when asked. Also he was very engaging and keep the tour lively and fun. He also had a great knowledge of the architecture and history of Philadelphia. Much more than we anticipated. The history surrounding the eagle and organ at the Wanamaker building was very interesting. We really enjoyed the whole experience and are looking forward to take other tours like this in Philadelphia and hopefully we will have Ryan for that tour as well!!!!

This was possibly the best tour I have ever been on. It was fun, educational without being boring, and delicious! The tour guides are locals who really enjoy what they do, and want you to have a good time. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get to know Philly, or eat great food. Question: My wife and I got this tour as a wedding present. Should we grab lunch before hand or is enough served on the tour?

Answer: There is a lot of food to eat during the tour. He'll be tasting a variety of foods and beverages including tomato pie, soft pretzels, cheese steaks, cheese fries, chocolate-covered pretzels and cake truffles. Most people find this to be enough food for a meal.
Question: I was gifted this tour by my parents, and would like to take a good friend of mine who uses a wheel chair. Is this tour wheelchair accessible?

Answer: Many of the stops are wheelchair accessible, and others are not, however they will make any necessary accommodations. Please be sure to make notes when requesting the dates for your reservation.
