The Smoky Mountains Heli Tours are offered seven days a week year-round, subject to availability. Flights are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

How Long Is The Smoky Mountains Helicopter Tour

The Helicopter Tours includes 12 miles of flight duration and is typically 20 minutes in total duration, unless an extended flight tour is purchased.

Does Weather Impact Helicopter Flight Experiences

The Helicopter Tours of the Smoky Mountains may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Helicopter Flight Experiences

Dress Comfortably. Flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure.

What To Know Before You Go

All participants must have a valid photo ID (passport or driving license). Individuals must not exceed 300lbs and participants must be less than 6'3" tall. The total combined weight of both passengers must not exceed 480lbs.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Great Experience Overall

It was a great experience and the staff was great! If I had any complaints it would be that the certificate stated a 20 minute ride and we drove over an hour for a 5 minute ride. It was a little disappointing as this was a birthday present. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.

My husband + I really enjoyed how beautiful the scenery was on our tour. The tour company and our pilot was really friendly, organized and answered all our questions about the landscape. One thing that I think was misleading (or maybe I didn't read the description correctly) was that the total flight time we paid for was only 5-6 minutes. The coupon indicated a total time of 45 minutes so I assumed we'd be spending more time actually in the air. We ended up having to pay more to bump up to a longer tour because I felt it was a waste of money to pay for such a short time in the air. I think it would be helpful to word the description differently so that it's clear exactly how much time is in the air vs. standing on the ground getting your safety instructions. However, overall, it was a great experience and we very much enjoyed it.

Question: It states that this is only for 2 people. Can you bring 1 additional person (10 year old child)?

Answer: The Smoky Mountains Helicopter Tour Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for two participants. Unfortunately you would not be able to bring an additional participant with you on the flight unless a second certificate for two is purchased.
Question: Are lap children permitted on the Smoky Mountains Helicopter Tour?

Answer: Children less than 24 months old are permitted as lap children and are free. Please let us know by putting notes in the comments field when requesting your reservation. You'll also need to bring the child's proof of age with you to the tour.
