What to Wear for Cooking Classes and Lessons

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this culinary adventure. Please do not wear open-toed shoes or nylons.

What To Know Before You Go

Classes are taught by Diane Floyd is the Chef and Owner of Meal Makers, Inc.. Chef Floyd has over twenty years of professional cooking experience in restaurants, university dining services, hotels, and in catering industry.

The five healthy cooking techniques are Roasting, Steaming, Sauteing, Broiling/Grilling, and Stir-frying. During the lesson you will prepare five dishes that include a poultry entree, fish entree, sides and a dessert each using one of the healthy cooking techniques.

Each participant will need a chef knife and cutting board. The Chef Instructor will purchase and bring all the food ingredients for the class. You'll also receive recipes for the dishes being prepared.

The Chef will travel approximately 20 miles outside of Center City Philadelphia at no additional charge. Distances outside of that radius are subject to travel fees.

Question: Do you have to live in Philly or will they travel to suburbs?

Answer: The cooking school is located in Philadelphia, PA, and provides service to the Greater Philadelphia area which includes South Jersey, Northern Delaware, and Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties. They will travel to location outside this area upon request. There is a mileage fee for areas outside of the places listed.
Question: May invite any friends over to enjoy the dinner we prepare?

Answer: You may invite 2 additional guests by choosing the option from the drop down menu above the add to cart button. The price is the same whether they participate or just come for the meal.

Answer: This is a hands on cooking class. A professional chef will be there to teach knife and healthy cooking skills.
