Discovery Flying Lesson in Northern Virginia

James had an awesome first flight with Josh at Aviation Adventures on Saturday, November 29, 2014. It was James' first time in a Cessna 172 and, after a ground briefing and pre-flight check, Josh let James taxi, take off, do a few touch and gos and finally land the plane. Thanks very much to Josh for a great first experience flying!

This experience was sooo amazing I'm not even sure where to start. Brent was my instructor and that dude ROCKS! He was friendly, personable and most important knowledgeable. He explained everything from the pre-flight to the landing and even though the weather was challenging (very windy/cold day), the flight/lesson was incredibly fun. I highly recommend this and suggest that everyone put this on their bucket list.

This was a present from my wife. I went to the Aviation Adventures in Manassas Regional Airport, the staff was absolutely very friendly. I flew with KEVIN (Launch Pad) After a quick briefing since I told him that I have previous flying experience, he showed me where we were going to fly and he let me do all the flying, take offs and landings and some manuevers. We went from Manassas to Culpeper, one full stop landing and we went back to Manassas. It was a little windy and it made the ride more exciting. If you have a log book don't hesitate to take it, this hour was logged on mine!!!

The flying lesson was amazing, and thrill of a lifetime. To make things even better, the airport allowed my fiance and her daughter to fly with me and video tape the whole thing. It is something I checked off the bucket list but might be something i do again as it was so much fun. They really do let you fly, including taking off and landing if conditions are good.

This was the most amazing thing I have ever done. The instructor was really informative and I had a blast! I was really nervous when he told me I would be flying and he would just be there to tell me what to do. But after I was in the air for a few minutes it was a lot easier then I had imagined. It was great, but not for me. I really enjoyed the experience, the flight instructor was great, ex military pilot, and I was able to learn a lot from my showed me that flying is a lot easier then I had always thought it was. On that note I did almost loose my lunch up there with some of the sharper turns. I have also conditioned my self to fall asleep the second I get into a plane, so about half way through the flight I started to have to fight that. All in all I thought it was a great time, but would most likely not do it again.

The staff at Aviation Adventures was very friendly and professional. The flight was terrifying at first, but I eventually loosened up and really enjoyed myself. Chris, the instructor, was a great instructor and answered all my questions and never made me nervous. If you decide to do it, just realize that he'll take over if things go amiss. So, on that note, have a blast! What a great gift.

I showed the people at Aviation Adventures my confirmation (which said Leesburg), and they hooked me up. Kudos to Raymond and everyone else there. The experience itself was amazing. I've never flown a plane myself before, and it was a little scary at first, but it was tons of fun as well. I don't think I'll ever forget it. Now I've just got to save the money to go again! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to see what it's like to fly.
