The South End Food Tours take place in all weather conditions.

What to Wear for Food Tour Experiences

Dress comfortably according to the weather. Flat rubber-soled walking shoes are recommended for this culinary adventure. Tours depart rain or shine, so please be prepared with a rain coat or an umbrella for rainy days and sunglasses and sunscreen for sunny days.

What To Know Before You Go

Tours include less than 2 miles of walking and visit six tasting locations, where participants will sample various dishes along the way. All tastings are included. For most, the tastings offered are more than enough to fill them up for a full meal. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience substitutions cannot be made for all dietary restrictions.

Water is available at several tasting locations. The beverage samples included in the tour may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, are subject to change, and vary between tours. Non-alcoholic alternatives for those who do not drink alcohol and those under 21 can be provided.

Children under the age of 12 and strollers are NOT permitted on the tour.

Restrooms are available at the start and end of the tour.

Gratuities for the Guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Tours typically visit 5-6 tasting locations.

Great Food, Great Tour

A great way to tour and eat your way through one of Boston's best culinary areas, the South End. We stopped at six eating establishments including a fish market and fromaggio and tasted a little bit at each place. Along the way, we learned a lot about the history of the South End up to today! A great time for tourists and locals alike!

Great Way to Spend an Afternoon

The tour was very interesting. It was nice to learn about the South End and taste some delicious food along the way. It is a good mix of quantity of food as well--some bigger portions and some smaller snack size portions. It would be nice to have a little more time to get to know the other folks on the tour--at the first stop we did get to chat a bit with a few people we sat with. It accommodates vegetarians fairly well (just one stop where they can't have anything). It would have also been nice to indicate if you do or do not drink alcohol. As neither my husband and I drink, but the only non-alcoholic beverages were offered to those under 21.

Tour of the Neighborhood, with Lovely Food!

Alyssa gave us a fantastic tour of the SE, complete with great stories about the neighborhood and the emergence of the "foodie" scene that has accompanied the area's revitalization. Nice balance of facts, sites, stories, tastes and strolling. Highly recommended, even for jaded residents of Boston and the outlying 'burbs.

Live, Love, and of Course Eat!

This was one of the best food tours I have been on. I have gone on tours in different states and different types you would be interested in, but hands down this was great! Wonderful - Even for a Local

I have lived in the Boston area for about 15 years now and I had only visited the South End a handful of times and all surrounded visiting a restaurant on a main drag. This food tour took us deep into the South End down streets I had never visited before. I never even realized some of the side streets had incredible restaurants, some of the best in the city, in fact. Unless you've spent a lot of time previously in the SE area, you WILL get something out of this tour. A handful of the sample sizes were a bit disappointing but other than that, the food all around was phenomenal at the six places we visited and you likely won't leave hungry (but make sure you go that way).

Boston Food Tour

My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 9 year anniversary on July 4th. Our tour guide Alyssa was very well educated with the area and all the foods we were tasting. I really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to my family & friends :) My favorite spot was The Parish Cafe II, what a great place! I will for sure be going back to the South End in the near future to enjoy some of the other restaurants that were talked about and we passed by, such as Coppa on Shawmut Ave. And we will definitely go back to try a different sandwich at the Parish Cafe II. We picked a great weekend for this tour, the South End was peaceful and the tour felt private. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!!!!
