Have you always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon? Then this Seattle Airborne Adventure is the perfect experience gift! Beginning at sunrise, this hour long Balloon Flight offers spectacular views of the Snohomish Valley below.

The fun begins when you meet with your friendly Pilot and Crew at the airfield. Here you will help the with the inflation of the balloon's envelope. Once the hot air balloon is inflated, you and the rest of the passengers will climb into the basket while the Pilot continues to use the burner to heat up the air inside of the hot air balloon. When the air inside of the balloon is heated to the correct temperature, the balloon will gradually ascend above the tree tops, over a thousand feet into the sky. As you float over the Valley, you will travel peacefully at wind speed for approximately one hour.

Towards the end of your journey, the balloon will begin to descend back to earth where your ride concludes with a wonderful champagne toast. This Seattle Balloon Ride is a great way to celebrate a special occasion!

The Seattle Balloon Rides have a flight time of approximately 1 hour and a total duration of 3 hours.

Does Weather Impact Hot Air Balloon Rides

The Seattle Balloon Flight Experience is dependent on favorable weather, and can only fly when the conditions are safe. Flights may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Hot Air Balloon Rides

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this open air adventure.

What To Know Before You Go

Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Rides is limited to individuals weighing less than 220 lbs and less than 6'4" tall. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate. Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes, must be able to climb in and out of the basket and should be at least 8 years of age.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Questions about Seattle Balloon Flight

Question: I have an elderly grandfather that has never been in a Hot Air Balloon before and I'd love to purchase this flight for him. He has limited mobility. Would this Balloon Ride be a good gift for him if I help him in and out of the basket?

Answer: Unfortunately this flight is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. Participants must be able to get into and out of a 4' high basket on their own. Plus, the landing zone is not guaranteed and you may end your balloon tour on rocky or uneven terrain.
Question: I'm interested in purchasing the Balloon Ride as a surprise for my girlfriend. Before the end I plan to propose. Is there a way we could fly over a sign or message if I go out and put it up the night before?

Answer: While a Hot Air Balloon is a great place to get engaged, because the balloon travels with the wind, there is no way to guarantee you would be able to fly over pre-placed sign. We also recommend using a 'dummy' engagement ring as they can be tough to spot from 1,500 feet if dropped!
Question: What should I wear on the Balloon ride? Is there space to bring an extra bag in the basket?

Answer: Typically it is recommended that you dress for the flight like you would on the ground for the time and day of the flight. Because Hot Air Balloons are pushed by the wind there is no wind chill factor! Unfortunately, because of limited space in the basket, you will not be permitted to bring an extra bag. However a camera with a camera strap is strongly recommended.
Question: How high can we expect to soar on the Seattle Hot Air Balloon Ride?

Answer: While the balloons have the ability to reach 5,000 feet, most flights take place between 500 and 1,500 feet.
