How Long Is The Michigan International Speedway NASCAR Experience

The NASCAR Michigan International Speedway Experience includes one 5 minute driving session, unless an upgrade option is chosen, with a total duration of approximately 3 hours.

Does Weather Impact NASCAR Driving Experiences

The Michigan NASCAR Experience may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to severe weather such as high winds or heavy rain.

What to Wear for NASCAR Driving Experiences

Dress comfortably, layers and flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this once in a lifetime racing adventure. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment.

What To Know Before You Go

Participation in the NASCAR Experience is limited to individuals 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. For safety reasons participants must be a minimum of 5'0" tall and no more than 6'7" tall. Participants must weigh a minimum of 100 lbs and no more than 280 lbs.

The race cars are purpose-built, full-sized, Nextel Cup-style Stock Cars. As these are real NASCARs, you must be able to climb through the window to get into the car. It is suggested that participants know how to drive a manual transmission.

A track-side viewing area is available for friends and family members.

Liability insurance fee is included and releases you from all vehicle damage.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Reservation And Cancelation Policy

All changes to reservations for the Michigan International Speedway NASCAR Experience require forty-five (45) days advance notice. Changes to reservations are subject to a $50.00 administrative fee.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.

Great Experience, Had a Wonderful Time!

This was a great experience! My family and I all went and they even allowed my wife and daughter to sit in a NASCAR and go around the track in a van. My 3-laps were thrilling! We reached speeds of 200-MPH with 13 degree banks. It was the chance of a lifetime and I'm so glad I got the chance to do it!

I had a total blast at this opportunity. Very informational in the classroom from the staff. The only thing I wish I could have done before driving was to ride in the stockcar to see what it feels like. I know I could have paid for it but just a lap around the track would have introduced the actual feeling of driving. Would love to go back and do it again!

I was impressed with the entire staff at Mach1 racing. Friendly, courteous, and helpful. The safety equipment was great. The cars were great. I was excited and enjoyed the experience. The only thing I would have liked better for myself would have been the option of having a professional driver ride with me to critique and coach my drive in order to experience the car's full potential. I was never comfortable going around corners because I never knew if I was going to fast for the tires and if they did slip, would I be able to recover or in the wall. I just didn't know. My Driving Experience

What a wonderful experience I had Saturday @ Michigan International Speedway. All the instructors & helpers were so very cordial and helpful. They sincerely want you to enjoy your experience. It's hard to describe the thrill of driving a Nascar at around 150-160 miles per hour around the Michigan track, but I can tell you I had chills & goose bumps even though it was quite hot in the cars with the fire suit and all the rest of the equipment on and tightened up pretty snug. They told us that once you get going you won't even notice the heat or your limited movement in the seat, and they were right, but the sweat was flowing when you exited the car, and talk about a 'ADRENALIN RUSH' LOL! Like Arnold says:'I'll be back!'

It was a lot of fun, professionally run. My only complaint is that I wanted to go faster. I did as I was instructed and stayed in the leaders tracks at the appropriate distance but he did not continue to increase the speed as much as I would have liked. Otherwise, it was a BLAST!!! I will be back with my wife - we both want to drive, but I really want to go faster!!!

Questions about Michigan NASCAR Drive

Question: I would like to purchase this gift for my father, who does not have a very flexible schedule. What happens if it rains on the day of his race and the experience is cancelled?

Answer: Safety is of utmost importance on the track. If the NASCAR experience is cancelled due to weather by the operator or any other uncontrollable circumstances, you will be able to reschedule directly through the race operator.
Question: How many other cars will there be on the racetrack? I did a racing experience once before and we followed a pace car the entire time and were not allowed to pass. Does this NASCAR experience allow us to pass?

Answer: An actual NASCAR race has 43 cars at the start, but for this experience there will be only 20 cars total on the track for each session. There is also no lead car and passing is encouraged. You will have a spotter talking to you through your headset and he will let you know when to move up.
Question: I am looking to give this as a retirement gift. What happens if the person I give the gift to gets into an accident?

Answer: Safety is top priority, therefore incidences are EXTREMELY rare. All drivers are covered with Vehicle Liability Insurance that is included in the price.
Question: My parents gave me this as a gift, but I have an expired license. Will that be a problem? Also, are the cars manual or automatic?

Answer: All participants MUST be 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license. These are real race cars driven by professional NASCAR drivers. They all have manual transmissions. If you don't know how to drive stick, this should be the proper motivation to learn!
Question: My husband and I would like to buy this for our Son as a Congratulations gift. What is included in each add on package?

Answer: If you click the green circle next to the drop down menu, you will see what is included with each package. They are as follows:
(1) 8 Minute Session – Add three additional minutes of Drive Time for a total eight minutes behind the wheel.
(2) 8 Minute Sessions- Upgrade to two eight minute sessions of Drive Time for a total sixteen minutes behind the wheel.
(3) 8 Minute Sessions- Upgrade to three eight minute sessions of Drive Time for a total twenty four minutes behind the wheel.
(4) 8 Minute Sessions- Upgrade to four eight minute sessions of Drive Time for a total of thirty two minutes behind the wheel.
Question: I purchased this gift for my husband, a longtime NASCAR fan. I would like to bring the whole family to watch him race. I have two young kids and would like to know if concessions will be available or if I need to bring snacks along for my children.

Answer: As this is a private event hosted by the driving school, normal concessions will not be open. You may bring outside food and beverages along with you.
Question: I am interested in purchasing this even for my husband's 50th birthday. However, when I read the description, it looks like he only gets to drive for 5 minutes. Am I reading that correctly?
