You and your guest will meet with your tour guide on the waterfront at Stearn's Wharf. Upon arrival, you will receive one-on-one training from your guide, who will demonstrate how to safely ride a Segway. Once comfortable and ready to roll, your tour guide will lead you and your guest along the streets of the American Riviera. From the Pier to the Historic 4 Seasons Biltmore, you will travel past Stearns Wharf, East Beach, the Santa Barbara Zoo and Bird Sanctuary to the white sands of Butterfly Beach, so don't forget your camera!

How Long Is The Santa Barbara Segway Tour

The Segway Tours in Santa Barbara have a 20 minute orientation, a tour length of 1½ hour and a total duration of approximately 2¼ hours, unless an Extended Tour option is selected.

Does Weather Impact Segway Experience Gifts

The Segway Tours of Santa Barbara may be rescheduled by the Guide due to lightning, high winds, or heavy rain.

What to Wear for Segway Experience Gifts

Dress comfortably, but do not wear loose clothing. Flat, closed-toe shoes and are recommended for this segway adventure. Please do not wear flip flops or open-toe shoes and don't forget to bring a water bottle, glasses and sunscreen.

What To Know Before You Go

Participants may bring a bottle of water, but heavy bags or backpacks are not permitted. As your safety is priority, initial rider training and orientation is completed with instructors who will teach fundamental handling and safety. Participants will be given the opportunity to practice on the Segways until all participants feel comfortable.

Segway riders must be at least 14 years of age. Individuals must weigh between 100 and 300lbs and able to stand for a period of 2 hours. Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by parent or guardian at least 25 years old. Helmets are provided and must be worn at all times.

Gratuities are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Questions about Segway Santa Barbara

Question: We've never driven a Segway before. Do most people that take the tour already know how to drive one? How hard is it to learn?

Answer: Segways are incredibly easy to use and you should pick it up in a few minutes. The tour starts with a 15 minute instructional period and your guide will make sure you're comfortable before you start the tour.
Question: Do you need a driver's license to drive a Segway? I am looking for a gift for my 14 year old niece.

Answer: No. The Segway's used are classified as Personal Assistance Mobility Devices. You are considered a pedestrian when riding. Please keep in mind minors under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. They will need a ticket as well to take the tour.
Question: Will there be any bathroom breaks on the tour?

Answer: Yes. You are encouraged to use the restroom at the tour center before you leave, but there will be at least one bathroom stop along the way as well.
Question: I'd like to surprise my brother and his wife with this gift when they visit. What other stops are there on the tour? Will they be able to stop to take pictures?

Answer: You'll have opportunities to stop and take pictures on the tour, but in the effort to stay on schedule, they ask that you wait until after the tour to shop.
Question: My daughter and I received this tour for Christmas. Can we bring our own bike helmets to wear?

Answer: If your bike helmet is comfortable and you'd prefer to wear it feel free to bring it. If it's not up to specifications you may use one of theirs for free.
