The Sightseeing Flight Tour of Charlotte has a flight time of approximately 1 hour and a total duration of approximately 1½ hours.

Does Weather Impact Scenic Flight Experiences

The Charlotte Scenic Flight Tours may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to severe weather such as high winds, fog or rain.

What to Wear for Scenic Flight Experiences

Dress comfortably, layers and flat rubber-soled athletic shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure.

What To Know Before You Go

Flight routes are restricted by the FAA and Pilots are unable to fly directly over the City of Charlotte.

Participation is limited to individuals weighing less than 225 lbs and at least 50 lbs. The combined weight limit for all passengers is 450 lbs. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

All pilots are accident and incident free and the Company has a 100% safety record. Many Pilots are trained beyond the rating they currently hold and are Certified Flight Instructors.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Flying over our home was awesome!

We had a wonderful experience taking a flight tour in Union County, North Carolina. One of the highlights was to actually fly in circles above our home, getting a once in a lifetime birds eye view of our “home-sweet-home” nest. Our pilot was Meredith Trinkle and she was AMAZING and kind and fun and we were impressed with her knowledge and piloting skills... bottom line, we just loved everything about flying with her!!! We hope to do this again someday!

Charlotte Scenic Flight Tour

My 11 year old daughter and I had an amazing time. This was a birthday present for my daughter and when the pilot found out he immediately focused all his attention on her. He showed us pre-flight procedures and explained everything he was doing. After pre-flight we go in, buckled up and from then on it was 'hands on'. My daughter got to taxi the plane on the runway, actually fly the plane (with his help of course), make turns in the air, control the throttle etc. She loved it. We even did a couple touch and go landings at two different airports. We had a blast and I got to create a life long memory with my little girl.

Questions about Charlotte Scenic Flight

Question: I was looking into the Charlotte Scenic flight as a gift to my daughters for Christmas (they are ages 9 and 8). However, I was wondering if a 3rd person can participate? Either my husband or myself would want to go with them.

Answer: Yes, a third person can participate for no additional cost. There is room in the plane for three passengers.
Question: I just received a scenic flight tour in Charlotte for my birthday. My cousin lives near there. Can I customize the flight so that we fly over her house?

Answer: Yes, you'll be able to customize your flight route as long as you are not in violation of any restricted airspace.
Question: My partner and I weight a combined 480lbs. How strict are they about the weight limit?

Answer: The weight limit is very strict and set by the FAA for safety reasons. You may not be over 450lbs combined to take the tour and each participant must not exceed 225 lbs.
Question: My wife and I were gifted this tour, will we be able take over the controls during the tour?

Answer: This is not a flight lesson but a scenic flight tour. If you'd like to take the controls you may like to purchase a certificate for the "Learn to Fly a Cessna in Charlotte" experience.
