A replica of the 1851 Schooner America, this gorgeous ship offers padded seats, teak decks, mahogany-trimmings, and 3600 square feet of canvas sails! Once the Captain navigates the Schooner away from the dock and has her under sail, you will be able to sip on complementary beverages as you take in the views of Fort Zachary Taylor, Mallory Square, Sunset Pier and Sand Key Light Tower! Does Weather Impact Sailing Experience Gifts

The Key West Sailing Trips take place in all weather conditions, but may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

What To Know Before You Go

The America 2.0 is designed after the famous Schooner America that was built in 1851 in New York harbor. That same year, America won the international race known today as the America's Cup.

Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided on day sails. Wine and champagne will be available for purchase. Two rounds of complimentary drinks will be served, but this is not an unlimited booze-cruise. The aim is to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all guests. Food is not served during the sail, but passengers are welcome to bring snacks or a light picnic on board.

Smoking and outside drinks are not permitted on board the Schooner. Complimentary ponchos will be provided if it begins to rain. The Schooner is not Wheelchair accessible.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Gratuity for the Captain and Crew is not included and is appreciated at the end of the cruise.

All changes to reservations for the Key West Schooner Sailing Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice. Reservations may only be rescheduled once.

Great time was had by us on this experience. Paul got to steer the boat, blowing a hooley so I hung on tight as we heeled over at some ridiculous angle getting soaked. All crew were very professional, hard working and attentive. All in all a great time.

Questions about Key West Schooner Sailing

Question: We're planning to book the Schooner Sailing in Key West and would like to drive if there is parking near the docks.

Answer: Parking in Key West may be somewhat limited, but there is a local municipal parking lot near the dock.
Question: I would like to gift the Schooner sail in Key West to my parents. In the description is says the "America" is based on a 19th century design. Are there bathrooms on the ship?

Answer: Yes, there are two bathrooms or "marine heads" on the ship. It is a simple pump design and directions are posted how to use them.
Question: My Husband and I received this wonderful gift from out thoughtful children. If we choose to bring a small picnic, will there be a place to stow the basket once we are finished?

Answer: There is an area below deck where you may store your belongings. Please keep in mind that this area is not guarded, so the cruise line cannot take responsibility for any broken, lost or missing items.
Question: Is the schooner wheelchair accessible?

Answer: Unfortunately the "America" is not handicapped accessible.
Question: My girlfriend bout us on a Schooner Sail in Key West for our anniversary. I've gotten seasick on boats before, but not every time. How steady is this cruise?

Answer: If you get seasick only on small vessels you should be okay. The yacht is 80 feet and very stable and it is pretty rare for passengers to get seasick. If you normally take medication for motion sickness you may want to consider it, however the cruise company cannot officially advise you to take any.
