Experience the adventure of a lifetime during this Tandem Skydiving Experience over Chicagoland. The thrills take place just over an hour west of the City at the Rochelle Municipal Airport.

The fun begins upon arrival when you receive a 20 to 30 minute pre-jump orientation. Next, you will suit-up and hop on the plane with your Instructor. When the plane reaches an altitude of 9,000 feet above the dropzone, it is time to exit the aircraft! Prior to the Tandem Skydive, you will be harnessed to your Certified Instructor as you get ready for an amazing 20-30 second 120 mph freefall.

When you reach the appropriate altitude, your Instructor will deploy the parachute so that you glide back to earth under the canopy built for two. During your descent, you will be able to help guide the parachute and enjoy amazing views of the Rochelle landscape below.

The Chicagoland Skydive is offered seven days a week April thru October, subject to availability. Appointments take place at 8:00 AM.

How Long Is The Chicagoland Tandem Skydive

The Chicagoland Tandem Skydive includes a 30 to 60 minute briefing, a 40 to 60 second freefall and a 5 to 8 minute parachute ride, unless an Alternative Jump Altitude is selected. The total duration of this experience is typically 4½ to 6½ hours.

Does Weather Impact Skydive Experience Gifts

The Skydive Over Chicagoland may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Skydive Experience Gifts

Dress comfortably, tennis shoes that lace and layers are recommended for this adventure. You will be provided with a jump-suit to wear during the experience. Please plan to leave valuables like phones, wallets, watches and jewelry in your car. Don't jump with anything in your pockets you can't afford to lose.

What To Know Before You Go

Participants must be over the age of 18 years old and a valid Photo ID is required for participation. Participation is limited to individuals weighing less than 240lbs and height must be in proportion to weight. Participants weighing more than 200lbs may be charge additional fees on the date of reservation.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.

All jumpmasters and instructors have current USPA ratings. All staff members are professionals, chosen for their commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Absolutely no alcohol or drugs may be consumed prior to a skydive or aircraft observer ride. Participants will receive a complimentary beer or soda after their jump

There is an on-site Bar & Grill, Pro-Shop, Free Wi-Fi, RV Parking and Free Camping.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight.

Questions about Skydiving Chicago

Question: Is it necessary to jump with the instructor? Or is there an option to do it alone?

Answer: All participants in the Chicagoland Skydiving must jump in tandem with the Certified Instructor, there is no option to jump alone.
Question: My good friend and I are skydiving for the first time. Are there lockers or a place we can leave our stuff while we jump?

Answer: If you have any valuables with you, like phone, camera, sunglasses etc., you can either leave them with your guest or locked in your car. The skydiving school will hold your keys while you jump. You definitely don't want to have anything in your pockets!
Question: Thinking of gifting this to my father. How safe is skydiving and how hard is the landing?

Answer: Statistically, you're more likely to be injured in your car on the way to the jump than during the jump itself. The facility has a perfect safety record, but it is an extreme sport and bumps and bruises may occur. The landing is softer than one might think, similar to jumping off the bottom step of a staircase.
Question: My sister gave me the Chicago Tandem Skydive for my birthday. I've had ear problems since I was a kid and my ears pop every time I travel, but she has done this before and thinks I'll be okay. Is she right or just being a mean older sister?!

Answer: Everyone is different. Most likely your ears will pop, but you'll be more caught up in the thrill of the experience to really notice. Ear pain while skydiving is caused by stuffed up sinuses or an already existing ear infection. If you have an ear infection, or even a cold or bad allergies on the day of the jump, you will probably have some ear pain.
Question: My girlfriend bought this Chicago Sky Diving experience for my birthday. I'm a little nervous because I hate that feeling you get when you drop, like on a roller coaster. Does sky diving give the same feeling?

Answer: The drop from the plane is nothing like the "stomach in your throat" feeling you get when you ride a roller coaster. You are starting from a moving vehicle and the you pick up speed gradually until you reach terminal velocity. Still, be sure to let your instructor know about your feelings on roller coaster because he will have the ability to pull some G's during the flight portion of the jump.
Question: My girlfriend and I are going on the Chicagoland Tandem Skydive this weekend and I'm trying to figure out what I need to bring. Are there any services out at the skydiving facility?

Answer: Yes, there is parking, a full-service RV park and camping area onsite (including laundry and shower rooms). If you'd like to bring some friends to watch there is a spectator area as well as a fire pit they can hang out at while you jump. You may also enjoy the Bar and Grill located at the facility equipped with free WIFI, but absolutely no alcohol before you jump.
Question: I have always wanted to go Sky Diving, and my parents gifted this to me for my birthday. Should I eat before I go or is it better to wait until after?

Answer: A light meal a few hours before the jump is recommended. Unlike, say, a biplane ride where they tell you not to eat, skydiving doesn't have the G-Forces that a stunt plane has. Actually most people are prone to motion sickness during the "flight" portion of the jump (after your chute opens) when they jump on an empty stomach.
