The Georgetown Culinary Walking Tour Experience takes place in all weather conditions, but may be rescheduled by the Guide due to sever weather conditions

What to Wear for Food Tour Experiences

Dress comfortably. flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

What To Know Before You Go

Tours finish within three blocks of the starting point and include 1½ to 2 miles of walking. There are typically four or five stops along the tour, each stop will last between 20 and 25 minutes.

All dishes are served sitting down, so you can enjoy the ambiance of each restaurant while trying their specialties, and hearing their stories. All dishes served are included in the price of the tour. The dishes you will try resemble small meals rather than traditional tastings. During the Food Tour, each restaurant will serve water or other beverages. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased during the tour from the restaurant(s).

Eating a light brunch before the tour rather than lunch is recommended. Enough food is served that most participants will not need dinner after the tour.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made.

Gratuities for your tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

My husband and I took the tour the week of Thanksgiving. Our group was small (4 people) so we had plenty of time to chat with the tour guide as we traveled. We enjoyed the tour but hoped for something less 'mainstream'. There are so many amazing ethnic opportunities in Georgetown, it seemed a shame to focus on the basics (seafood, italian, crepes, dessert). Please consider throwing in something exotic like Ethiopian since most visitors will not have that chance OR be willing to try it on their own.

Unique and Fun!

Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for something different. Lauren was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job of not only leading us through Georgetown and it's back streets, but giving us history along the way. It was great experience. We were a little disappointed as the confirmation page made mention of 5 stops and there were only 4. It also listed a total tour time of 3.5-4 hours and it was just under 3.

Hello. My name is David Pollack and my wife and I did your Georgetown Culinary Walking Tour with Rachel on Saturday, June 1st. I wanted to let you know what a great time we had and what an incredible tourguide Rachel is. She had to deal with a large group, temperatures in the 90's, and a couple of participants who are just plain grumpy people, and she could not have handled the situation better. Please note that the tour is designed to highlight a variety of foods and not all options offered will be gluten free. Participants are not required to sample all of the items on the tour. When possible substitutions will be provided but are not always available.
Question: My mother and I will be driving into town for the Georgetown Tour. Is there any parking near the start of the tour?

Answer: Yes, there are two parking garages near the start of the tour.
