This airborne adventure begins forty five minutes before sunrise, when you help the Pilot and Crew with the inflation of the balloon's envelope. The Hot Air Balloon Flights of Tucson are offered seven days a week October thru April, subject to availability. Tucson Hot Air Balloon flights take place at Sunrise. Sunrise times will vary upon the time of year the flight is scheduled.

The Arizona Hot Air Balloon Ride has a flight time that is typically over and hour long, and a total duration of approximately 4 hours.

Does Weather Impact Hot Air Balloon Rides

The Tuscan Balloon Flight experience depends on favorable weather, and can only fly when the conditions are safe. Flights may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Hot Air Balloon Rides

Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dusty, jeans, sneakers, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended for this open air adventure. Open toed shoes and high heels are NOT allowed. Long hair should be tied back or worn under a hat. Be sure to dress in layers as temperature increases significantly as the sun rises.

What To Know Before You Go

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate. Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes and must be able to climb in and out of the basket. There is a minimum age limit of 5 years old and a maximum weight limit of 300lbs.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight to verify that they have no health concerns. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Gratuity for your Pilot is not included and may be extended following your flight.

Sedona Hot Air Balloon

My husband had mentioned he always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. We always saw them, and he would get so excited. So for his 30th, I got him a Flight. Booking it was super easy. It allows you to choose your top three choices for dates. Love that this one does it in the morning. The pilot was a hoot, and the crew is so nice and efficient. After landing, they open a bottle of champagne and some breakfast items...your just enjoying the open terrain. Its absolutely breath taking. It's so wonderful.

Questions about Tucson Balloon Ride

Question: I received this as a graduation present, and I am a little nervous about flying in a Balloon with no steering wheel! How does a balloon Pilot steer the balloon?

Answer: Balloon pilots are really masters of the wind. It's hard to tell from the ground, but the wind blows in different directions at different altitudes. By ascending and descending in elevation. the pilot can actually steer the balloon. Of course you can't always predict 100% which ways the wind will be blowing on any given day, so the pilot will have multiple landing locations in mind before you launch.
Question: Riding a Hot Air Balloon is on my fathers bucket list, but he uses a cane. Are Balloon rides handicapped accessible?

Answer: Unfortunately this flight is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. The balloon company asks that you are able to get into and out of a 4 foot high basket on your own. Also, the landing zone is not guaranteed, and you may end your balloon tour on rocky or uneven terrain.
