Experience the thrill of California Skydiving! Only 40 miles southwest of the City, your Bakersfield Sky Diving adventure begins with an introduction to the sport, safety aspects of Tandem Skydiving and an overview of all safety procedures and equipment.

After you have completed the pre-jump training, you will suit-up and hop on the plane with your Instructor. Once the plane reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet above the dropzone, it is time to exit the plane! Prior to your Skydiving CA, you will be harnessed to your experienced Certified Instructor as you get ready for an amazing 120 mph 50-60 second freefall.

When you reach an altitude of 5,000 feet, your Instructor will deploy the parachute so that you can glide back to earth under the canopy built for two. During the six minute descent, you will be able to help direct the parachute and enjoy amazing views of the San Joanquin Valley below. The Skydives Over Bakersfield are offered Saturdays and Sundays year-round, subject to availability. Reservations can be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

How Long Is The Skydiving Bakersfield

The Bakersfield Skydives include a 30 to 60 minute briefing, a 40 to 60 second freefall and a 5 to 8 minute parachute ride. The total duration of this experience is typically 2-4 hours (depending on weather).

Does Weather Impact Skydive Experience Gifts

The Tandem Skydiving in Bakersfield may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Skydive Experience Gifts

Dress comfortably, in layers. Flat rubber-soled shoes such as tennis shoes are recommended for this adventure. You will be provided with a jump-suit to wear during the experience. Jewelry, flip flops and opened toed shoes are not permitted.

What To Know Before You Go

Participants must be over the age of 18 years old with a valid government issued Photo ID. Participation is limited to individuals weighing less than 240lbs and height must be in proportion to weight. There is a surcharge of $20 for individuals weighing between 201lbs and 230lbs and $30 for individuals between 231lbs and 240lbs that must be paid upon arrival.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate. The consumption of alcohol or any illegal drug prior to skydiving is strictly prohibited.

All jumpmasters and instructors have current USPA ratings. All staff members are professionals, chosen for their commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Friends and family are welcome to spectate at the airport. The facility has picnic tables along with a BBQ and pool (in the summer) that guests are welcome to use.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. Video and Photo Packages are available and may be purchased on the day of your jump.

Questions about Skydiving California

Question: Will I be allowed to bring my video camera if it has a strap?

Answer: No. It is illegal for anyone with less than 200 solo jumps to carry any kind of video or camera equipment on their jump. If you would like video of your jump please contact the skydiving school directly to make arrangements. Their contact information will be provided in your confirmation email.
Question: I'm interested in purchasing the Skydiving Bakersfield experience for my fiance. Is the airport they use actually in Bakersfield? How far is it from LA?

Answer: The airport is about 40 miles south of Bakersfield and 100 miles north of LA. It's about an hour and 45 minute drive from Los Angeles.
Question: I hate roller coasters! What does skydiving feel like? Does the initial drop feel like the first drop on a coaster?

Answer: Not at all. Most people describe it as floating, or even flying!
Question: I am looking for a fun birthday gift for my son who is turning 16. Can he tandem if I sign a liability waiver?

Answer: No, the minimum age to skydive is 18 years old. There are no exceptions as this is a nationwide law.
Question: I got a skydive for my birthday but have never been before. What happens if the weather is poor on the day of my jump?

Answer: If your jump is cancelled by the skydiving school for any weather related issues they will reschedule you directly.
Question: I would like to surprise my wife with this skydive. May I bring our kids and the dogs with to watch?

Answer: Yes, but all pets must be on a leash at all times. There is a viewing area at the facility with picnic tables, a BBQ and a pool that students and their guests are welcome to use.
