During this unique outdoor adventure the fun begins when you meet your friendly and experience Trapeze Artists and Instructors in either East Meadow or Long Beach. Upon arrival you will be given a brief overview of this Introductory Trapeze Class and learn all of the safety procedures you need to know. Once ready, your Instructors will introduce you to all aspects of flying on the trapeze, familiarize you with the apparatus and terminology, and teach you to perform basic tricks.

Throughout the Intro Trapeze Class you will perfect the necessary skills you need to learn on the ground before strapping into a harness and being taken up to trapeze level. The Trapeze Classes are offered April thru October, subject to availability. Tuesday thru Friday Classes are offered at 2:00 PM, 4:15 PM and 6:15 PM. Saturday and Sunday Classes are offered at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

How Long Is The Long Island Trapeze Class

The Long Island Trapeze Classes have a class length of 90 minutes and a total duration of approximately 2 hours.

Does Weather Impact Outdoor Activity Gifts

The New York Trapeze Classes may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to Wear for Outdoor Activity Gifts

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and athletic gear are recommended for this outdoor trapeze class. Your mid-section must be covered to protect yourself from the harness. Please also bring drinking water to the class.

What To Know Before You Go

Instructors come from a variety of athletic and artistic backgrounds, each with various circus performance experiences, and have the knowledge to instruct you, keep you safe, and make your Flying Trapeze experience enjoyable and memorable.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones, a heart condition, have had recent surgery or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate. There is no age requirement, however the minimum recommended age is 4 years old.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation. If the participant is under the age of 12 a parent or guardian will need to be present during the class. The school reserves the right to deny access to the facility to anyone believed to be a danger to themselves or others.

Nothing but 5's across the board for this experience. Intimidating at first, but the staff turned the fear in confidence in very short order. Not only are they very professional, they are encouraging from start to finish. I now have video to prove I was able to step out of my comfort zone and succeed at 'flying.' Great experience!

My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and we had a BLAST. The instructors clearly know what they are doing and are both really nice and funny. My only issue is that it's a group class....so even though its 1.5 hours, you don't get as much air as you'd like since other people have to go too. Overall it was definitely worth the money and long drive ^__^

Trapeze Class in Smithtown, NY

I took my husband to this two-hour class in Smithtown, Long Island for his 37th birthday and it was amazing. The instructors knew what they were doing, they were extremely clear with instructions and patient with our lack of skills, they kept everything extremely safe, and the experience itself was amazing. In two hours, they taught the both of us how to take off, hang from our knees, and how to get caught. Just amazing. They also do birthday parties (where kids as young as 4 can participate), and you can't beat the price! Make sure you dress comfortably, and suggest wearing some type of long, flexible, workout type pants. You have a safety belt on the high part of your waist, but make sure you wear a shirt that won't necessarily fly up if you're upside down (unless you don't care). Tie up long hair as well, no clips, and wear socks for walking on the net. They have shirts and jackets for sale as well, so bring cash too (its easier). Trapeze set is outside, so keep weather in mind.

Questions about Trapeze Class In New York

Question: Do I need to have a lot of upper body strength?

Answer: If you can hold your body weight from your hands for 15-30 seconds, you'll be fine. You don't need to be able to lift yourself. Flying Trapeze is about timing and momentum, not strength.
Question: Are there any weight restrictions?

Answer: The harness will be able to hold you. The only weight restriction is that you are able to hold yourself up for up to 30 seconds at a time.
Question: Is this class only in English?

Answer: Some instructors speak and teach in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Hebrew. Be be sure to let us know if you need a foreign speaking instructor when booking your reservation by making notes in the special comments field.
Question: Will we actually get airborne in our first lesson?

Answer: Absolutely. The first half of the class will have you performing back flips into the net. In the second half of the class, if you're ready, you will actually attempt to catch one of your instructors!
