The fun begins in West Forks where you will meet with your friendly and experienced guide. This six-hour hiking adventure will start with a safety briefing before you and the rest of the guests climb in the vans to head to the starting point. The Mosquito Mountain Adventure includes a leisurely 2 mile hike to the Peak of Mosquito Mountain, which has an elevation of 2,175 feet. Once at the top, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the 360 degree panoramic views including Mosquito Pond, Moxie Pond, nearby Pleasant Pond Mountain, Sugarloaf and Mount Katahdin.

Does Weather Impact Outdoor Activity Gifts

The Guided New England Hiking Trips may be rescheduled due to high winds, heavy rain or other inclement weather. All decisions to cancel, move, or postpone scheduled trips will be made by the Guide on the day of the reservation.

What to Wear for Outdoor Activity Gifts

Dress comfortably. Recommended items include shorts, t-shirt, a fleece or jacket, sneakers or hiking boots, sunglasses or hat and sunscreen. Open–toe shoes are not permitted. Please bring a backpack for loose items and plenty of water.

What To Know Before You Go

Lunch is included and a vegetarian option is available. You are welcome to pack your own lunch if you prefer. Participants are advised to bring plenty of water and snacks and backpack to store food and personal items.

Your hiking experience will take place with a Professional Guide. Participants are advised to be well rested. Please avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to the scheduled experience. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions such as heart or lung conditions, severe asthma, back problems, recent surgery, obesity or osteoporosis or any other condition which is considered unsafe are not eligible to participate. The minimum age for participants is 10 years old.

Gratuities for your tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Answer: The distance is about 4 miles round trip with about a 1000 ft elevation gain, and the total hike will take about 6 hours. It's not a race to the top, but a leisurely and fun scenic hike!
